Why Ultraman choose Hayata

Shin Hayata was destined to bond with an alien from the Land of Light named Ultraman to battle various threats around the Earth and beyond, or was it? Since first aired in 1966 the original Ultraman series had many adventures with the main character Science Patrol Vice Captain Shin Hayata and the the rest of the SSSP, but there are some ever wondering of why Hayata become Ultraman to battle kaiju like Red King and aliens like Alien Mefilas, the only reason to them is that Hayata boring character archetype that have no personality to him other than turn into Ultraman, well what if Hayata wasn’t on that Jet VTOL instead someone else was in the Jet VTOL during that night when Ultraman chase Bemular to Earth, crash into the Jet VTOL and bond someone else other than Hayata, and how this change affected the other Showa series like Ultraseven and Ultraman Taro, and most importantly entire franchise itself if this change to happen? 

WHAT IF IDE WAS BOND TO ULTRAMAN?

First is the mostly popular that being the fan favorite, Ide who was the bumbley inventor of the Science Patrol with a heart of gold and many many fans say that Ide should been the protagonist of the series instead of Hayata, so let’s test that fan wish and sees what Ide could been as Ultraman, let start when Ide was on the Jet VTOL instead of Hayata who in this case was busy with Professor Iwamoto’s newest weapon, as the Jet VTOL crashes to Ultraman, and the Ultra gives his life to Ide, and the series itself goes on with Ide as Ultraman, however the Ide focus episodes have different meaning especially the Jamila episode where Ultraman instead attacking Jamila with water, he helps Jamila to understands of what happens to him and maybe he has some special beams to reverse the mutanting and give Jamila back his humanity also means Ultraman gives Ide’s life too and leaves, that would've been the series final so beloved kaiju like Gomora and Zetton along with aliens like Alien Dada and Alien Mefilas won’t been in the original series instead for the next series Ultraseven which the title Ultra instead have a human form, he would have bond with Amagi, and the other series of Return to 80 would have other inventor/character depth members of the other defense teams as the other Ultra Brothers also mean that Hideki Go didn’t join MAT, Seiji Hokuto and Yuko Minami didn’t join TAC also mean no return to the moon and no Dan the fake Sixth Ultra Brother, Kotaro Higashi didn’t join ZAT, Gen Otori didn’t join MAC and that defense team also have better leadership and live, and Takeshi Yamato didn’t join UGM and stay that teacher job, however the Heisei era also different with TDG trilogy have different hosts for they respectfully Ultras, same with Neos, Cosmos, Nexus, Max, and Mebius, same with the New Genration era like Blazar bond with Bando, however this isn’t only what if scenario.          

WHAT IF ARASHI WAS BOND TO ULTRAMAN?

Next is Arashi the tough as nails member of the Science Patrol, who always held the Spider Shot blaster, so if Arashi was in the Jet VTOL instead of Hayata, this case he would deal with Ide’s investion, when the Jet VTOL crashes and Ultraman bonds with Arashi, however unlike Hayata’s bond with Ultraman, Arashi’s would been most dangerous version of Ultraman, as the series goes on many kaiju and aliens are been destroyed included Gavadon, but it the series final won’t been the Zaragas episode as that episode played the same, but differences is that Ultraman defeated Zaragas, and give Arashi’s his life back do to his toughting and battle ready that his soul have, and leaves Earth, so that kaiju Zetton would been move to Ultraseven, where in this case it’s Furuhashi that bond with Seven, and the other Showa series would have tough guys/sharpshooters type characters that bond with the other Ultra Brothers, same with the Heisei and New Generation eras with various tough guys/sharpshooters and ever tough girls bonding with various Ultras, this also means that the franchise itself would been hardest and most violence with the main characters are tough guy characters bond to an giant alien without the compassion nature that Ultras trend to have with everyman character looking up at the main character to be a hero to the little guy, and without it that’s takes away of what Ultraman truely is, but there also another choice.   

WHAT IF HOSHINO WAS BOND TO ULTRAMAN?

The next one is a weird choice, but Hoshino is the child character of the original Ultraman that later join in the Science Patrol, so for his case since he is a child at the time of show airing, he just seek in the Jet VTOL while Hayata goes after the spheres when Ultraman crashes the Jet VTOL, instead of Hayata’s which Zoffy taking that role, Ultraman bond Hoshino’s life and the series goes on now with a SHAZAM style feel of the series, however with the Tsuifon episode happen this is where Hoshino had enough with being Ultraman and the Ultra gives his life back, and goes the comet to push it to a new location that never do harm to the Earth, however unlike the last two what ifs, Zoffy continued the series with a mini series that with battling Zetton, while the next series Ultraseven, where Seven bonding with Soga who isn’t a kid, as the other Ultra Brothers in there respectful series bonding not the kid characters, but other members of the defense teams, when the Heisei era happened again no kid characters bonding with Ultra expected for Nexus that did bond with a kid character, at the time of the New Generation where teenage character who are bonding to the Ultras ever ones with a defense team in it, give the franchise ever more kid friendly tone than what actually had, and this also chould been laughing stock of Toku series with shows like Kamen RIder and Super Sentei getting new and groundbreaking seasons while the Ultra Series stuck being a kid show because the host characters are kids bonding to a giant silver/red aliens, yes this what if is sad because of the factors that it’s have, but there are other means like what if Ultraman wasn’t go after Bemular, but someone else did.    

WHAT IF FUJI WAS BOND TO A ULTRAWOMAN?

Our second to last is focus on Fuji, the only female member of the Science Patrol that do more than just do things of every 1960’s woman do, for this what if to work since the concept of a male Ultra bonded to a female host doesn’t work in late 1960’s Japan, so we goes with a Ultrawoman instead of Ultraman, so this version of events where Fuji is in the Jet VTOL while Hayata is listening of what’s going on, when Ultrawoman Lola crashes to Jet VTOL, and bonds Fuji’s life, the series on now more femme flair to it, however unlike the last three what ifs, we actual make it to the final episode with Zetton where same thing happen to the Ultrawoman only Ultraman himself rush in the defeated Zetton, and Ultrawoman Lola return Fuji her life, and leaves with Ultraman, and the next series Ultraseven didn’t feature Seven himself but a female version of Seven that bonds with Anne, while the other Showa Ultra series won’t featuring Ultra Brothers instead Ultra Sisters bonding with the female members of the defense teams, yes that included series that featuring more than one female member, but it’s the main one that bond with female Ultra or Ace’s case it’s the second one, as both the Heisei and New Generation era could have female Ultras bonding with the members of the defense teams also means evil female Ultras, too if we still go with the light vs darkness angle, but this also make the whole franchise a series caring for girls, which stuck in with the magical girl series like Sailor Moon, but at least Chaiyo won’t make a deal with a girl series and tried to illegal calm ordership, this good what if, and here’s a other.       

WHAT IF CAPTAIN MURAMATSU WAS BOND TO ZOFFY?

The last one is different, it’s on Muramatsu, the fatherly captain of the Science Patrol, since in this case, Ultraman isn’t bonding to a defense force captain, instead it’s Zoffy that goes to Earth, in this series events, as Captain Muramatsu is in the Jet VTOL, while Hayata is checking his good captain, when Zoffy crashes the Jet VTOL, as the captain doesn’t have much time as Zoffy offer him a second chance of life, so Muramatsu agrees and bonding to Zoffy, as the series goes on somewhere in the middle Hayata got injury and somehow bonding with Ultraman, leading in the series final where both Ultraman and Zoffy defeats Zetton, and giving both captain and vice captain’s lives back and leaves, in the next series Ultraseven, Seven is bonding with Captain Kiriyama, and the other Ultra Brothers in the rest of the Showa era series, gets the captains of the defense forces, also means that the Captain of MAC won’t be Dan Moroboshi but Captain Ibuki instead, however the Heisei and New Generation eras the captains of various defense forces bonding with various Ultras, however Blazar being different with Vice Captain bonding with the Ultra instead of the Captain, this make the franchise more inspection with that father/mother figure captain turn into a Ultra to save the day, and it also means that Kamen Rider have Tachibana as V1, making both Ultra series and Kamen RIder series to have the same guy played both heroes in two different years.

All the what ifs were reasons of why the other members of Science Patrol can’t be Ultraman, if we removed Hayata out the Jet VTOL we got various results some cases like Hoshino, Hayata would been bond with another Ultra to work, as in both Fuji’s and Muramatsu’s different Ultras would takes the place of Ultraman, the reason that Hayata choose to bond with Ultraman because he has that brotherly respect to his fellow teammates without it you got three different Ultra series that didn’t make it to episode 39 and battle Zetton, and the franchise would take various different paths as each member of the Science Patrol turn into Ultraman, also the only series that isn’t effect by is Ultra Q, hey that series stay while the others change, even know, that the darkest what if is that some disgruntled JSDF captain that hating Hayata for join the SSSP than he is bonded with a evil Ultra who have rivalry with original Ultraman, and the SSSP got destroyed as the Evil Ultra rule Earth with various kaiju and aliens, than various evil Ultras appear in later Showa series however that really dark that face it’s a army bonding with a evil Ultra not a defense team member boned with a Ultra, that will ultimately lead to the good Ultra defeats the Evil Ultras for destroying a planet, than again maybe TsuPro should do that for a big movie event down the the road, for right now that it so happy Ultraman Day everyone, and this is Spiderus Prime to say until all are ten!
